Moreover, our luxury full-grain leather is meticulously drum-dyed, where the Navy dye penetrates the entire hide. This results in a rich and refined colourway, in a way that is sustainable and considerate of the environment. Leather experts use the vegetable-tanning method, producing only 10–12% of leather worldwide. Our exceptional Signature Vachetta leather emerges from a precise Italian tannery recipe that no other tannery replicates.
To ensure exceptional quality, we use an age-old organic process using natural chestnut tannins that takes at least 60 days. At Maxwell-Scott, we firmly believe that haste compromises quality. Our vegetable-tanning process, a tradition spanning millennia, is entirely natural. Using pure ingredients and no chemicals, toxins or heavy metals, we produce leather that honours heritage. All of our leather is a by-product of the meat industry, ensuring resourcefulness, whilst our carbon-neutral atelier further minimises environmental impact.
