Our family-run business was founded by English entrepreneur William Scott Forshaw in 2002, championing the values of superior quality, timeless style and durability. Renowned for creating forever leather bags and accessories to be passed down through generations, we continue to be inspired by the iconic shapes, effortless style and extraordinary precision that is synonymous with fine British design.

We’re a luxury brand that genuinely cares (you’ll find no greenwashing here). We sustainably source only the finest, most durable full grain leather, and trust expert leather artisans to handcraft our premium leather bags and accessories at a highly-regarded atelier in Italy — we always have, and we always will.

Meet The Team

The journey began when businessman William Scott Forshaw noticed a lack of high quality leather briefcases on the market, with most of his colleagues rotating high street bags that were prone to wear and tear within a few uses. Determined to design a luxury men’s briefcase that would truly stand the test of time, he founded Maxwell-Scott, and began the search for the finest quality materials. His pursuit for perfection led him to a family-run factory in Tuscany, where he met his match in Orazio: Italy’s most dedicated and passionate leather craftsman. Together, they created the Paolo briefcase — which remains our best-seller to date.
