Everything we create begins with the leather itself. At the same time, at Maxwell–Scott, we use 100% full-grain leather. Specifically, Vachetta leather—the very top layer of the hide. We obtain our leather exclusively from tanneries that belong to the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium. Consequently, this guarantees authenticity and exceptional quality. It also supports ethical production. Tanneries use hides that come as a by-product of the food industry and maintain minimal environmental impact throughout the process.
